What Does an NDT Trainee Do?
An NDT trainee (or NDT assistant or Level I) learns all aspects of inspection services from a technician, performs equipment setup and calibrations, and makes evaluations.

Different Environments “could include”: On factory floors; Inside quality labs; Outside on oil rigs; Underneath bridges; On top of wind turbines
Different Organizational Structures: Under the supervision of certified personnel; Assisting in the field; In single or multi-location(s) in a day; On the road and across sites
Different Job Tasks: Equipment setup; Calibration; Applying testing criteria; Making evaluations; Able to lift /carry 75 pounds
Different Responsibilities: Assisting in finding flaws and defects; Helping to identify problems; Supporting certified personnel in advising on solutions; Assisting in recommending improvements; Reporting immediate needs for supplies or assigned truck maintenance (see something, say something); cleanliness of truck; Security of truck and vault; Maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, other vendors, and clients in the field; punctuality is a plus and reporting needs of personal time off and availability in a practical manner as we are on-call 24/7
