Radiography (RT)

Reading instruction

What is RT?

Radiographic testing (RT) employs radiographic film, combined with Computed Radiography and Digital Detector Array technologies, for NDT inspections. X-rays or gamma rays penetrate the pipeline structures while under observation, and inspectors can observe the recording on a radiographic plate for further testing. RT is accurate, provides a permanent visual representation, can be used to test any material and is time effective as no surface preparation is required.

Why Use RT?

  • Highly Accurate: Can detect even the smallest internal flaws.
  • Permanent Records: Produces film or digital images for documentation and comparison.
  • No Surface Preparation: Works effectively even on rough or coated surfaces.
  • Material Versatility: Can inspect various metals, welds, and composite materials.
